So we have enough Virgin miles for 2 free flights (though "free" isn't technically true as you still have to pay an arm and a leg for Tax). We have 3 options and they are totally different. Usually Im quite good when it comes to selecting holiday destinations but this year I just don't care May be the whol ttc malarky is getting me down but I really can't decide what to do and hubby says we need to book soon as he wants to go in May/June...for about 10 days. So here are the 3 options - which would you choose? and what goes through your mind when you think about these destinations: 1. Boston/Washington. We've never been to either. It's meant to be very pretty there. But, there's no beach so it won't be a relaxing holiday and I do like my beach/pool scene... 2. Dubai. We've been there for 3 days last year. It's got the beach/pool scene, but not much else to do/see. It's got several aqua parks and some desert adventures but that's about it. It'll also be VERY hot. We did like it a lot last year but Im not sure if it's worth going back for 10 whole days 3. Orlando. We've been to Florida several times, but never to Orlando. Love Florida, but been there so many times. It's got the beach and the shopping and some attractions... So what would you choose?? Thanks!!xxx

Ooo tough choice Maria! But i think I'd go for Orlando, sounds like it has everything you want, beach for chilling but plenty of stuff to do. You've never been there either so it'll be different. Have a lovely holiday where ever you choose!

You would think about it, it's natural. I think you're okay to fly except when your right at the end so you'll be ok!
Though the sickness is rubbish it is managable, so even if you have a bit of sickness you'll still enjoy your holiday as long as you look after yourself.

Out of those 3 choices, I would say Boston. and if you stay outside of Boston, you can have your beach/pool scene, and be a bus/train ride out of the sity, so still close enough to go in and do some sight seeing etc. Let me know if you want any more info, and I will grill my sis in law, as she is from that part of the States

how about it doesnt matter where, as long as i can come in your suitcase? orlando/florida might be a bit dodgy, because you wont be able to go on rides if you are pg by then, so maybe opt for a more relaxing trip. are they the only options you have?

See, Im not that into rides anyway. If Im not pg then will probably spend a day at one of the parks. But it won't matter if I don't. Also, Im sure there's plenty to see in the parks - without having to go on rides. So Florida really is about nice (and cheap) hotel with a pool, close to the beach and fab shopping. BUT we've been to Florida 3 times I think.
They are the only 3 reasonable options. The amount of miles we have is enough for certain flights only. So we couldn't go to California as that's too far away, as is south africa. If we had a bit more miles, Id definitely go to SA! Always wanted to go on a safari!!!

I always thought it's cold there....but then Im not even 100% sure where Boston is so my geography is crap Have you been there? Did you like it?

I have been to Boston for a short visit, think we were there about 4 days in all. It can be quite warm over there I think, but will make sure and ask SiL tomorrow. It's on the East Coast, about a 4 hour drive form New York

Ooh Orlando, although I didn't enjoy it that much pg. But you can just have lazy days with crazy golf and some nice food & cheap beer if you're not. Or Boston, sounds different!

Thanks, Mel!!! Yeah, I think Dubai's off the list now. It'll pushing 40 degrees in May/June so we won't really be able to enjoy ourselves. I remember being there last July and going to the Gold Souk (historic gold market) during the day - it really felt like torture!! Yet the local women were still dressed in heavy black robes from head to toe We ordered some brochures on Boston/Washington area. Ill have a look at the picture and decide Melly, I have heard about the stunning colours, but always thought it was more in Canada...although I suppose Boston must be quite close there. Orlando is the safest choice!!! And I really need to do some clothes shopping so US outlet malls will be very handy!!!

Just asked my SiL about the weather in Boston at that time, and she says it's nice and warm!! There's plenty to do and see in Boston, is it's had quite an interesting history. It's where the Declaration of Independence was signed, and of course the Boston Tea Party too. And if you're into spooky stuff, you could go visit Salem (where they held the witch trials) and there's a village you can go visit where they still live like they did a couple of hundred years ago too
